This film is laminated directly to sheet steel and thus protects the steel from corrosion. Compared to previously used films, the ISOFILM does not require any environmentally harmful pre-treatment of the steel sheet. The excellent adhesion between the steel sheet and the foil is only achieved due to the heating of the sheet before lamination.
The film was therefore built up in two layers, with the outer layer meeting the requirements in terms of weathering and abrasion resistance, while the inner layer ensures exceptional adhesion to the steel sheet. Even with extreme forming forces, there is no separation of the foil from the sheet. The steel sheets are used, for example, for corrugated drainage pipes in European motorway construction.
